People behavior differ in a group compare to individual behavior. In sociology the term collective behavior refer to the behavior of people, in which a large group is involved, such as crowed and mob. It is a spontaneous behavior of large group of people in which the behavior of an individual is influenced by the behavior of group. The behavior can also be planned and structured or unplanned and unstructured. But such behavior take place under the influence of large group. In a group individual does or acts what the other member do or act like, individual go with the flow of the group. According to some sociologist and psychologist groups’ emotions, feelings and mentality differs from an individual feelings, emotions and mentality. According to Broom and Selznick, collective behavior is spontaneous behavior and it is a product of unstructured situations.

Some types of collective behavior are as follow, crowds, mobs, riots, mass hysteria, fads and crazes, panic, rumors etc. some collective behavior involve people who do not interact with one another but are in close vicinity. Moreover, some collectives behavior involve people who are not in close vicinity but share same beliefs. Collective behavior is not regulated by any official authority. It is also unpredictable which means that, no one can foresee when and what is going to happen?
